October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month and Constable Mark Herman’s Office is reminding residents to stay alert for phishing scams and to think carefully before clicking on unexpected emails, text messages, links or attachments.
Phishing scams are designed to appear legitimate while tricking people into providing sensitive personal information, revealing account credentials or downloading malicious software.
A single careless click can potentially put personal information, online accounts and electronic devices at risk.
